Nothing during the pilot: no lead fees, no subscriptions and no commissions. A commission of 5–10% on jobs paid through HomeKept is planned once payments launch. It applies only after at least 30 days’ notice and your separate agreement, and never to jobs done before you agree.
When a homeowner posts a request, a person on our team reads it and invites up to 3 reviewed pros who do this kind of work in that area. You get the invitation by email and in your dashboard. Once you open it, you have 24 hours to respond: send an estimate or decline.
You need whatever the law requires for your work — for example, Pennsylvania Home Improvement Contractor registration (unless you’re exempt) with the liability insurance it requires, and local or trade licenses where required. Upload your documents to your profile: after the team checks them, your profile shows a “License verified” or “Insurance verified” badge.
Fill in your services, service area, a short description and work photos, then send the profile for review. The HomeKept team usually decides within 48 hours and lets you know. Only reviewed profiles appear in the catalog and get invitations.
Directly, on the terms you agree with them: HomeKept doesn’t take payments yet. An estimate on HomeKept isn’t your contract — in Pennsylvania you give the homeowner a written contract that follows the Home Improvement Consumer Protection Act.
